

SEAL, Louisa Virginia "Jenny," our mother, formerly of Manakin-Sabot, died Monday, January 6, 2014, and at last joins her beloved husband of 58 years, Herbert George Seal, who predeceased her in 1994. As husband and wife, they enjoyed life together, and shared a love of music, dance, Bridge and golf. Blessed with a creative nature, she was an avid gardener, and found great joy in the beauty of flowers. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, where following the service, she will be interred alongside our father. Survivors include five children, Joan S. Mohr (Jay), Herbert L. Seal (Missy), Rebecca S. Shepherd (Bowie), Robert S. Seal (Cyndy) and Patricia S. Brock. She is survived by 12 grandchildren, Thea, Greg, Traci, Scott, Jenny, Heather, Cari, Brian, Tessa, Ashley, Sean and Troy; 22 great-grandchildren; her sister, Madge J. Wiltshire; and a close friend, Mary Epperson. She was also predeceased by one grandchild, Denise; and a dear friend, Wadim Polujektoff. The family wishes to express its deep gratitude to those who compassionately cared for her while a resident of The Christopher Center at Our Lady of Hope, and especially to Christy Fowler, Jacqueline Scott and Rebecca Merritt who assisted her in battling Alzheimer's with dignity and poise.
