Lyle "Casey" Bernard Salo

Lyle "Casey" Bernard Salo, of Glen Allen, Va. died peacefully at home on July 27, 2015. He was born in Hibbing, Mn. on December 23, 1944 and worked his way south, living in Cleveland, Oh. for many years before moving to Virginia. Casey lived to help those in need and never failed to stop and help anyone who needed repairs or assistance. He was a member of Tuckahoe Moose Lodge and a Moose Legionnaire for over 20 years. He was also a devoted auxiliary member of VFW Post 6364. He retired from Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospital in 2010. His joy in retirement was fishing and just contemplating the water of the Rappahannock River whenever his health permitted.

Casey was preceded in death by his parents, John Salo, Bernice Romanski Matteson and step father Elmer Matteson, and his beloved sisters, Sandra Maloney and Lynn Carlson. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jayne; his son John; beloved grandson Jaks; sisters Clara LaMarche and Karen Hocking (Terry); step mother in law Sally Kennedy; sister in law Susan Kennedy; and many, many nieces, nephews, loving in laws and treasured friends.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7pm, on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at the Parham Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N Parham Rd, Richmond. Memorial services will be held at 11am, Monday, August 3, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
