Martha was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Teachers Sorority. She was a retired school teacher from George Wythe high school.
Martha was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years Irving Benson. She is survived by her children Alan Benson and daughter Barbara Benson, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren and one sister Mary E McGhee.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 17, 2013 from 12:00 -1:00pm with the funeral service starting at 1:00pm at the Woody funeral home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. Richmond, VA. Interment will follow at Westhampton Memorial Cemetery
