Mary Alice, 80, of Mechanicsville, passed away July 8, 2012, with her family by her side. She is survived by her daughter, Beth Ludeke and her husband, Jeff, whom she had lived with for the past 13 years; her son, John Vickery Jr.; two sisters, Margaret Gentry and Barbara Jean Bozzell; four granddaughters, Wendy, Laura, Meagan and Krista; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mary will be missed by all of those whose lives she touched. She was a volunteer at St. Mary's Hospital for the past 17 years and a member of Northminster Baptist Church. Her family will receive friends Tuesday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., where services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
