Myrna Rose Bickhart

Myrna Rose Bickhart, age 84, of Glen Allen, Virginia, previously of Yorktown, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022. Myrna was born in Oak Hill, West Virginia on February 1, 1938 to the late, Samuel and Mary Young. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 60 years, Donald Bickhart; daughters, Donna Beard (Charles, Jr.) and Deborah Denson (Thomas, III); grandchildren, Caroline Beard, Jefferson Allen, and Charles Beard, III. She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Tal Allen; brothers, Charles and Warner Young and sister, Carol Dodd.

Upon graduation, Myrna owned Travers Restaurant in West Virginia until 1961. She then moved to MA and worked in a rope factory. Her most current employment was with American Greeting Cards in Hampton, VA. She was a member of Denbigh United Presbyterian Church for 50 years and served as a teacher. Myrna was the Treasurer and Circle Chair of the church Presbyterian Women's Group. When she wasn't working she enjoyed cooking, sewing, machine embroidery, and electronic knitting.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on March 5, 2022 at Denbigh United Presbyterian Church, 302 Denbigh Blvd., Newport News, VA 23608. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Denbigh United Presbyterian Church.
