

JOHNSTON, Paul Marshall "Jetpa," died on September 15, 2010 after 89 full years. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Robert Marshall, and daughter-in-law, Canby; his brother, Wray Olin; and his sister, Ruby Minor. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Maria Rosa (Ica); his three sons, Nelson Carl (Denise), Eddy Stuart (Julie), and Dennis Mark (Sandy); his brothers, Russell Alexander (Harriet) and Otis Maynard (Judy); his sister, Edna Lucille Griffin (Allen); his grandchildren, Lelia Maria Rowe (David), Carl Marshall (DeMarion), Rose Johnston Payne (Tay), Sarah Elizabeth Milston (Amber), and Marshall Scott; and his seven great-grandchildren, Skylar, Libbie, Pierce, Betty Jane, Anderson Rose, Lily Jaymes, and Juliet. A Kents Store, Fluvanna native, he served four years overseas in the Navy during World War II. After the war he settled in Richmond where he worked for Commonwealth/Dick Strauss/Sheehy Ford for 57 years. Paul was an avid outdoorsman, a 40-year weekend resident of Trice's Lake, Cumberland, Va., a Boy Scout Leader, a wood craftsman, a father of three Eagle Scouts, an angling instructor at St. Catherine's, and a member of Tuckahoe Masonic Lodge #347. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Road. A family graveside service with Masonic Memorial Rites rendered by Tuckahoe Masonic Lodge #347 AF&AM will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made in his honor to the American Cancer Society .
