Peter Petruska

It is with great sadness that the family of Peter (Pete) Petruska announces his passing on Friday, February 2, 2018, at the age of 54. He is survived by his parents Bill and Laura Petruska; brother Billy and sister Sue Bailey (Gary); his nephews, Billy Petruska III (Katie), Michael and Ryan Bailey.

Pete graduated from Douglas Freeman High School in 1981 and after a year at VCU, he decided to serve his country in the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne Division. From there, Pete began his twenty-eight year career in telecommunications. The last eighteen years, he was a dedicated Field Operations Technician with Quest/CenturyLink.

Pete enjoyed gardening and planted beautiful roses in his mother and father’s backyard. He also loved loud music, especially his favorite band RUSH. Even more than his love for music and gardening, Pete loved his nephews. He had a great sense of humor and never missed an opportunity to joke with and tease Billy, Michael and Ryan.

Pete was a great person, loved by all and he loved everyone in return. What his family and friends have lost, heaven has gained. Working hard his whole life, may he now rest in peace – “Be cool or be cast out”

A Visitation will be held at Woody Funeral Home 1771 N. Parham Rd on Sunday February 11, 2018 from 3-5pm. The funeral service will be Tuesday February 13, 2018 at 11am at Woody Funeral Home. Burial to follow.
