Powell Tilghman Jr., departed this life January 2, 2013. Mr. Hastings was a lifelong resident of Richmond. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and VCU (RPI) with a BS in business. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Neta C. Hastings; son Powell T. Hastings III (Sarah); devoted daughter, Kathlyn L. Hastings; sister, Jean H. Anderson (Ed); brother-in-law, Russell E. Collins (Janis); and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He owned P.T. Hastings Seafood, the family business which was opened by his father in 1922. The family will receive friends Friday, January 4, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., and where services will be held Saturday, January 5 at 2 p.m. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park . In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to your favorite charity.
