

PUGH, Richard Howard, 53, passed away peacefully at MCV Hospital in Richmond on April 20, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Charlottesville, Va. on January 16, 1964, he is survived by his loving mother, Carolyn G. Pugh of Crozet, Va. He was preceded in death by his father, William H. Pugh.
He was a graduate of Western Albemarle High School in Crozet, Va., and enjoyed his career as an IT specialist at Patient First Corporate Office in Richmond for the past eight years. He was touched by his co-workers generosity and support during his battle with cancer.
Rich or Richie, as he was often referred to by family and friends, will forever be remembered for his kind, gentle and selfless spirit. He was an avid animal lover, and had lifelong interests in trains and American history. He will forever be in the hearts of his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Cesiah Refazo; and stepdaughter, Tiffany (Lulu) Refazo of Richmond, Va.; two brothers, Jeffrey Pugh and his wife, Pam, of Virginia Beach, Va., Steven Pugh and his wife, Aliya, of Virginia Beach, Va.; his uncle and aunt, Buddie and Nell Critzer of Crozet, Va.; and cousin, Kim Kennedy and her husband, John, of Crozet, Va.; and a nephew, Adam Pugh of Columbus, Ohio.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Acute and Palliative Care Units at MCV Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, at Woody Funeral Home-Parham Chapel, 1771 N. Parham Rd., Richmond, Va. 23229.
