

Shirley Brown-White was born on January 31, 1965, in Harlem, New York to the late Deirdre Walker and Harry Brown. She was a devoted mother, grand and great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, niece and friend who will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and unwavering love for her family. Shirley had a passion for bringing people together, whether through family gatherings, barbeque picnics, home-cooked meals, or simply sharing her laughter and humor with great stories.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Elena Garcia and Richard Walker Senior; her parents, Deidre and Harry; and her sibling, Harry Joseph Brown.
Shirley leaves to cherish her memory her four children: Jovan Robinson, Avery White, Laurenn White, and Asia White. She is also survived by her siblings: Sandra (Stanley) Lynch, Simeon (Tanya) Brown, Kenneth (Jetone) Brown, Parnell Jones, and Jamal Parker.
Shirley was a proud and loving grandmother to Heaven White, Makayla Kelly, Denise Echevarria, Anthony Joseph Aybar, and A’zari White; and a great-grandmother to Amirii Brown.
Shirley’s legacy of love, resilience, and devotion to family will live on in all who knew and loved her.
