Theodora (Dora) Campanellas Everett

Everett, Theodora Campanellas (Dora), age 69 of Henrico County, passed peacefully at her home on April 8, 2010. To greet her in heaven are her parents Gus and Anne Szourou Campanellas, sister Athena Campanellas Snead, brother Nicholas Campanellas and her husband of 25 years, Leonard Ray Everett. Left to cherish her memory, is her love and caregiver David Ward; her devoted sister, Libby Campanellas George; her daughters Terre Everett Hooe (Charles); Rhonda Everett (Jeffrey Alexander) and Laura Everett Hall (Ken); six grandchildren: Eric Morton, Lindsey Morton, Austin Hooe, Savannah Hooe, Isabella Hall and Eva Hall, as well numerous family caregivers, notably; her niece Lisa Trible Bruno (Tony) and cousin Vicky Nicholau. Dora also leaves behind a nephew, Scott Snead (Ann) as well as 2 great nieces and 2 great nephews; a multitude of friends and family, including her most recent family, the clients she served through the Community Missions at First Baptist Church.

Dora had a love of music that she shared through her beautiful soprano voice. She was a former member of the Greek Orthodox Church choir, the Richmond Choral Society and sang on numerous live radio shows during the 1950s. Dora's love of music was only eclipsed in recent years by her love of serving the community. She was active in Community Missions during the last years of her life, where she found great joy several days a week packing lunches for less fortunate residents of the city, most who live on the street. They especially looked forward to her surprises when she would fix a pot of grits on cold mornings.

The family will greet visitors at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Road, Richmond, VA 23229, Sunday, April 11, 12 to 2 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Services will be held on Monday, April 12 at 10:30 a.m. in the First Baptist Church sanctuary. Burial at Westhampton Memorial Park followed by a reception at First Baptist.
