GILL, Thomas Preston, 87, of Richmond, died November 2, 2011. He was born to the late Joseph and Mary Gill on July 20, 1924. He was a member of Mechanicsville Baptist Church and a member of the Mechanicsville VFW. A retired truck driver, Thomas was a WWII Army veteran being awarded the Bronze Star and other service medals.Thomas was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Grace Evelyn Gill.
He is survived by his children, Donald R. Gill and wife, Donna, and Teresa Gill; four grandchildren, Jason Jack and wife, Tanya, Scott Jack, Rodney Gill and wife, Jessica, and Ryan Gill; four great-grandchildren, Jessica Jack, Austin Jack, Tyler Gill and Levi Gill.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 7, 2011 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., Richmond, Va. 23229.
