

Aileen “Polly” Grafton Chapman quietly and peacefully went to be with her heavenly Father at Hospice Ministries of Ridgeland on December 26, 2022. Polly was born January 16, 1929 in Tchula, MS to Thomas Irwin Grafton and Margaret Pleasant Grafton. She graduated from Coldwater High School and attended Delta State University. She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church and later a member of Northpark Presbyterian Church of Jackson.
She was a lady who loved God, her husband, family, church, playing golf and bridge with her many friends, and devoted her life to raising her children and grandchildren. Her gift of making everyone around her feel special will be missed by all.
Preceding her in death are her late husband, Don Rogers and 4 sisters, Margaret Grafton Peaster, Marion Grafton Powell, Kathleen W. Grafton, Jean Grafton Hightower. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years William James Chapman; children; Don Rogers (Mary) of Meridian, Nancy Crawford (Spike) of Flora, Jere Barnett (Randy) of Madison, Kathy Flowers (Jeff) of Flora, Kerry Chapman (Cathy) of Nashville, TN, Keith Chapman (Chris) of Ridgeland, Sid Chapman (the late Cindy), of Jackson, TN; and the late Ken Chapman.
Polly and Jim have been blessed with 25 Grandchildren and 35 Great Grandchildren. She will be remembered by all as our happy loving “Gran” who always made time to play games and loved them each dearly. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews that were very special to her.
All are invited to a graveside service Thursday, December 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Concord Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 194 Old Highway 51, Pickens, MS 39146.
