

Funeral services will be held for Anita Hardin Fowler, 90, on Monday, March 18, 2013 at Wright Ferguson Funeral Home in Ridgeland, MS. Anita passed away on March 9, 2013 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.
Survivors include her devoted husband of 72 years, Inman O. Fowler, daughter Sylvia and husband Russell Wicker, son Steve Fowler and wife Peggy, and daughter Mary and husband Frank Waltman; and grandchildren and spouses Hoyt Williams (Angie), Robert Williams (Mary Cates), Melissa Hewitt (Lloyd), Scott Fowler, Shane Fowler (Isley); five great-grandsons and six great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Moscow Lamar Hardin and Carrie Busby Hardin; brothers Durand A. Hardin, Marvin L. Hardin, Reeda H. Hardin, Odis F. Hardin, and Ferris Hardin; and sisters Maggie L. Hardin, Elma E. Hardin, Alma Hardin, Rosa Hardin, Minnie Raye Hardin, Mildred Hardin and Catherine Hardin.
Anita was born March 4, 1923 in Ellisville, Miss. She was a full-time homemaker and volunteer in Laurel, Brookhaven and in Jackson where she had lived since 1957. She developed a love for the arts, a great appreciation for classical music, poetry, theater, and was a lover of nature, and floral gardening. She was also an avid reader of classics and biographies. She loved to sing and in the early 1950's sang in the choir at First Methodist Church in Brookhaven and later in the choir at St Luke’s Methodist Church in Jackson.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and will be especially missed by all those who loved and cared for her.
Visitation will be Monday, March 18, 2013 from 1PM to 3PM at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home, 1161 Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland, MS. Family service will follow. Interment will be at Parkway Memorial Cemetery, Ridgeland, MS.
