Campbell was born on September 29, 2009, in Jackson, MS. In his short life, he touched many lives with his bright, brilliant smile and his love and compassion for others. At the age of 4 on February 14, 2014, he was diagnosed with Stage IV Rhabdomyosarcoma. He bravely fought this battle for a year and a half never once complaining or questioning any step of his cancer journey. He always believed that his caring and capable doctors and nurses, his parents and ultimately God would completely heal him of his cancer. Through his unwavering faith, along with the faith of his parents, God has been glorified in his life and in his death. Cancer did not win this fight, God did.
Campbell is survived by his parents, Dr. David and Jill Dale and his twin sister Avery. He is also survived by his grandparents Dr. Leon and Sherrill Dale and Ken and Sandra Meacham; his uncle Jay (Melissa) Meacham, his aunts Jenny (Jon) Byrd, Julie (Brandon) Deer, and Holly (Mart) McMullan; and his cousins Foster, McNeil, and Webb Meacham, Benton and Hobbs Byrd, and William Seymour; and many great aunts, uncles and cousins.
We would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses at Blair E Batson Children’s Hospital for the wonderful care they provided to Campbell throughout his cancer journey and especially Dr. Anderson Collier and the care he has shown to Campbell and our family. We would also like to thank the doctors and nurses at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for the care they provided to Campbell and our family.
Visitation will be 5-7pm Monday and 10-11am Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church of Jackson. Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday September 22, 2015 at the church with burial to follow in Parkway Memorial Cemetery.
