

Carrol Ferguson Jackson, 91, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 21, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Parkway Funeral Home; and also from 9:00 to 10:00 am Wednesday, July 22, at First Baptist Church Madison. The funeral service will follow at 10:00 am at the Church. Burial will be at Parkway Memorial Cemetery.
Carrol was born on November 14, 1923 in Texarkana, AR. Living in Madison most of his life, he was a member of First Baptist Church Madison for years as Deacon and sang in the choir. After serving in the U.S. Marine Corp., he followed in his father’s footsteps and became a Baptist Minister. He then began working in broadcasting and eventually owned radio stations in Jackson for a number of years. After retiring at 62, Carrol began building homes in Madison, and did so for 26 years. He spent the last 7 years of his life traveling the world over with his wonderful wife, Libby.
Carrol was preceded in death by his first wife, Iris Meredith Musick; his daughter, Betty Jean Jackson; father, D. N. Jackson; mother, Erma Gilbert Jackson; and brother, Sherron Jackson.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Libby” Jackson; daughters, Carolyn (Joseph) La Barbara and Joni (Steve) Hutton; step-sons, Martin and Jack Holmes; granddaughter, Brooke La Barbara; grandsons, Ben and Mike Hutton; step-grandsons, Noah and Carter; and sister, Ermagene Sullivan.
