The son of the late Harold C. Snodgrass and Ada H. Snodgrass, he was born in Abingdon, VA. After graduation from the University of Tennessee, he received a commission in the U.S. Air Force, later retiring from the Mississippi Air National Guard as a Lt. Colonel.
As a civilian he was employed by Allstate Insurance Company. Upon retirement he worked for AIG in a similar capacity for several years. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. He enjoyed researching his ancestry, leading a Bible study group, playing bridge, fishing, and target shooting.
He is survived by his wife, Frances R. Snodgrass, his sons and daughters-in-law, David and Leslie Snodgrass, Paul and Kathryn Snodgrass, Scott and Leah May, and his granddaughters, Kirsten and Kaylee Snodgrass.
A memorial service is being held in his honor on November 30th at the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Newton County.
