She was born at the Grissom Air Force Base in Indiana, and educated at the Pinkerton Academy in Derry, New Hampshire. She was the daughter of Karl and Rebecca Helmar, and sister of Karl William Helmar. She had lived the past 20 years of her life in Mississippi, spending it with her soulmate William Shelton.
Colleen was formerly a medical assistant, a business manager, advertisement-specialist, and an overall beloved employee by everyone she worked with. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her loved ones, and trying new things. She was a great listener, and had many friends that counted on her for advice.
Her passion for kindness and life itself will always be remembered by those who survive her parents Karl and Rebecca Helmar; brother Karl William Helmar; son Jacob Richard Lodge; her soulmate William Shelton; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, and in the memory of her many friends whose lives she has touched.
A gathering for Colleen will be held Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Parkway Funeral Home, 1161 Highland Colony Pkwy, Ridgeland, Mississippi 39157, followed by a memorial mass at 2:00 PM.
