Connie, 86, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday morning. Visitation will be held 9:00am Monday, June 30, 2014 at Wright & Ferguson Parkway Chapel. A Committal Service will be held at 10:00am in Trinity Mausoleum.
Connie Barefoot Shuttleworth was born in Union, MS on January 12, 1928. She was a devout wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Connie was a member of First Baptist Church of Madison. She served in the church in many ways throughout the years. Connie was known more to her family and close friends as "Little Mama". She was truly put on this earth to give and to love. She was always willing and giving of herself to her friends and family. Her grandchildren were her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, and both her husbands: John Joseph Mackey and Dean Shuttleworth; as well as her daughter, Sherry Wilkerson.
Survivors include grandchildren: John (Deanna) Mitchell and Joanna (Chris) Rayner; and great-grandchildren: John Mackey Mitchell, Jonathan Card, Guy, John Christian, and Brooke Rayner.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to American Breast Cancer Society.
