Dennis Alton Davis, 77, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2011 at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital. A funeral service will be held Monday at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Flora with interment in Flora Cemetery. Visitation is 4:00-6:00 PM today at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Ridgeland and 10:00-11:00 AM Monday at the church.
Mr. Davis was born October 8, 1934 in McCool, Mississippi to the late Robert V. and Myrtle Brunt Davis. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Flora and was an employee of Hutting Corporation in Jackson for 51 years.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents and by his brothers, Coy Davis, Harvey Davis, and Jim Bob Davis. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Charlotte Nowell Davis of Flora; son, Tim Davis (Lisa) of Bentonia; brother, Travis Davis (Ruth) of McCool; sister, Emma Dean Frazier of Picayune; and by his grandchildren, Johnna Lynn and Alisha Davis, both of Bentonia.
The family has requested that memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Flora, 113 Center Street, Flora, MS 39071.
