Beth was a beloved, longed for, but unexpected younger child. Her parents were so sure she was a boy that they had no name picked out and so her lucky older sister had the honor of naming her Elizabeth.
She was always an effervescent extrovert ; from babyhood on, she always had a big smile for the camera, preferred company to solitude, and was the spark for fun times with family and friends. She loved people, was interested in them and could - and did - strike up a conversation and develop an instant rapport with anyone. She cared rather than judged and people responded to her warmth.
She had a joyous sense of humor and an irresistible laugh. Her humor was never malicious and she laughed at her own foibles more than those of others. Every day brought a new adventure and a story with which to entertain us.
She would throw herself wholeheartedly into decorating for Christmas, making date-nut cakes, making and gifting beautiful needlework. She was a loyal Mississippian and proud of her birth state. She said her love of sports was passed down from her dad. She was a dedicated fan of Saints football, she kept a cowbell by her chair for college football, and she rooted for Kyle Busch in Nascar. She enjoyed spoiling her cats Fluffy, Figaro and Fonzie.
She loved her family with all her heart. Her grandchildren were her greatest delight. She always taught her children and her grandchildren to be kind to one another and love the Lord with all their hearts. She was a beautiful example of a Proverbs 31 woman and encouraged us all to “cling to what is good” Romans 12:9.
Beth was preceded in death by her parents Benjamin and Evelyn Quin, her husband Wiley Greer and her son Benjamin Greer.
She is survived by her sister Patricia (Alan) Sachtleben and her nephews and neice, daughter Tonya (Kenneth) Turbville, their children Morgan and Chandler and daughter Lauren (Ron) Ball and their children Jordan, Julia, and Ryne.
