

Frank was born on August 24, 1943, in Jackson, the second child of Warren and Grace Jones of Forest. He was a 1961 graduate of Forest High School and received his undergraduate degree from Millsaps College in Jackson in 1965. Frank went on to graduate from the University of Tennessee School of Dentistry in 1968. While in dental school, Frank married Celia Price of Jackson, MS, who later passed away in 1974.
Frank spent most of his adult life on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, practicing dentistry at the Biloxi VA Medical Center. Frank also served over 20 years in the Mississippi Army National Guard 972nd Dental Detachment, retiring as commander with the rank of Colonel in 1998. Frank met Chris James of Canton while both were working at the Biloxi VA, and they wed in 1978. Their son, David Franklin Jones, was born in 1980 in Gulfport.
Frank and Chris were members of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Gulfport for over 30 years. Frank and Chris were avid travelers, exploring the world throughout their retirement. Frank also had a passion for the outdoors, creating many special memories with his son and family chasing saltwater fish, whitetail deer, and wild turkeys in his home state. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and his Scottish Terriers.
Frank is preceded in death by wives Celia and Chris, his older brother Warren, and parents Warren Sr. and Grace. Survivors include son, David Jones (Harper) of Jackson, and brother, Mark of Forest. Grandchildren include McCausland (Causey) and Willam Turner Jones of Jackson.
A family graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Parkway Memorial Cemetery in Ridgeland.
