

Gary Dale Thrash, age 70, passed away peacefully at St. Dominic Hospital surrounded by his family, on February 26, 2021. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 2:00 pm, at Christ United Methodist Church.
Gary was born March 18, 1950, in Philadelphia, MS. He grew up in Jackson and graduated from Wingfield High School in 1968. After high school, Gary attended Ole Miss where he played baseball and developed his love of all things Ole Miss and Phi Kappa Tau. Gary obtained his juris doctorate from Ole Miss in 1974 and returned to Jackson to begin his legal career. He built one of the most respected practices in Mississippi and was proud when his children joined his office. Gary met his wife, Debbie, at a social function and it was a whirlwind romance that lasted 42 years. He loved their life, family time and travels. He was proud of his children, but his grandchildren were the lights of his life. He enjoyed watching them in all aspects of their lives.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Narwin Haynes and Dorothy Cumberland Thrash.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Martin Thrash; daughter, Leslie (Matt) Henson and son, Adam (Carmen) Thrash; brother Terry (Frances) Thrash; his five granddaughters, Lillie, Carmen Claire, Parker, Hazel and Hallie; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Blair E. Batson Hospital and the Hole in the Wall Gang.
