Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 21 at Madison United Methodist Church at 2:00 with visitation an hour prior. Burial will follow at Natchez Trace Cemetery, Madison, MS.
Heather was born March 18, 1978 in Jackson, MS to Elise and Steve Rogers. She attended Pearl High School where she was very involved in activities such as cheerleading, choir, softball and received honors of Homecoming Maid, Class Favorite, and Student Body Vice President.
Heather graduated with a degree in Interior Design from the University of Southern Mississippi. She was active in Kappa Delta sorority and served as a Rho Chi rush counselor. She was a Phi Kappa Tau little sister, but most importantly while at USM she met the love of her life, Jayson Daniel Moak. It was her friends at USM that gave her the nickname of Hero. Unbeknownst to them at the time, it would prove to become more than a nickname, but a defining attribute of her character and how others would know her as she courageously battled cancer.
She and Jayson were married May 5, 2001 and established their home in Madison.
She was Vice President of Rogers Testing Laboratories where she was her father's right hand and involved in the daily operations of the company. She was an active member of Pinelake Church (Madison). She also taught preschool at Madison United Methodist Church where she expressed her gift of teaching and imparted her love of God to preschool children. Her greatest calling and joy was being a loving, Godly wife to Jayson and mother to her two boys, Austin Presley (9) and Prestin Daniel (5).
Heather was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, James Don Rogers. She is survived by husband Jayson, sons Austin and Prestin, mother Elise Green, father Steve Rogers, maternal grandparents, Edward and Bonnie Burgess, paternal grandparent, Christine (Kaye) Rogers, brother Aaron Rogers (Elise), nephews, Pax, Amos and Silas, aunt Emily Boyce (Glenn), cousins Brittany Becker (Josh), Danielle, and Madeline Boyce (fiancé Jacob Daniels), uncle Ron Rogers and aunt Donna Miller, mothers in law Sandra (Johnny) Mangum and Donna Moak, brothers in laws, Joel Moak (Julie), Blake Moak (Jill), nephew Grayson, Craig Mangum (Michelle), niece Magnolia and Chandler Mangum (Mary Katherine), nephews Tyler and Griffin.

The family expresses their heartfelt thanks to the numerous friends who gave so generously providing meals, daily needs, care, donations, love and support throughout her journey. We will miss our precious Heather, but we rejoice that she is His. She is a daughter of the King, and she is healed forever.
The family also wants to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Baptist Medical Center and Jackson Oncology for their compassionate care.
