Henry Hugh Fonville

Hugh was born on September 14, 1952 in Lexington, Mississippi to Marion Henry Fonville and Josephine Perry Fonville. He was a graduate of Lexington High School, Holmes Junior College and Mississippi State University.

He worked for Stuart C. Irby Company for 30 years and Sylvania Lighting for 13 years before his retirement. He was an avid hunter and loved spending time in the woods. He also enjoyed attending Mississippi State University sporting events.

Hugh was preceded in death by his parents, sister Anita Fonville and brother Marion Fonville. He is survived by his wife Mary Shattuck Fonville; daughter Ashley (Tom) Bryson of Hoover, Alabama; daughter Lindsey Fonville of Madison; grandsons Michael and Henry Bryson of Hoover, Alabama and sister Jean Fonville Hastings of Madison. He is also survived by a brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and a host of longtime friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland with a private graveside service the following day.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice Ministries, 450 Towne Center Blvd, Ridgeland, MS 39157.
