Hugh Windham Downer, 92, passed away Friday, May 15, 2015, in Jackson, MS. Funeral arrangements are pending with Parkway Funeral Home.
Hugh was born on Jan. 12, 1923 in Aliceville, AL to George Nonan and Lilie Mae Windham Downer. He attended University of Alabama, and then the Citadel. He began his career in the U.S. Army, then the National Guard, and finally Deviney Equipment Company. He married his beloved wife, Claudia Jean Bell, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sister, Eva D. Tisdale, of El Paso, TX and numerous nieces and nephews from around the world. He will be greatly missed.
