
Jack D. Duff, age 77, died Friday, August 12, 2011 in Jackson, MS. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home on Highland Colony Parkway with the interment following in Parkway Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Monday, August 15, 2011 and from 10:00 AM until service hour on Tuesday.
Mr. Duff was born July 25, 1934, in Clinton, IL. He served as a Sergeant in the United States Army. Mr. Duff worked for 45 years with Illinois Central (CN) Railroad, where he entered his service as a Telegrapher and retired as Trainmaster. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge, and a member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church. Mr. Duff was an avid golfer and bowler; he loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. Duff was preceded in death by his parents, Audrey and Franklin Havlin and his sister Carolyn Havlin.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Janice Stocks Duff of Canton; a daughter Teresa Duff Coalter and her husband Jay;
granddaughters Katelyn Coalter and Megan Coalter of Brandon, MS; sisters, Sharon Gee and husband Larry, Jennifer Wagner and husband Merle both of Bloomington, IL; brother, Terry Havlin of Indiana; niece, Machelle Shannon and nephews Troy Gee, Todd Havlin, Clint Havlin and Shane Havlin; and several great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the American Lung Association, the American Diabetes Association or to the charity of your choice.
