Johnnie Marie Young

Johnnie Marie Young, 88, died Saturday, May 28, 2011 at her home in Flowood. Funeral services are 11 AM Wednesday at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Ridgeland with entombment in Trinity East Mausoleum at Parkway Memorial Cemetery. Visitation is 5-7 PM Tuesday and 10 AM Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Young was born in Hazard, KY to the late John and Nan McKnight McIntosh. She attended Lakeside Presbyterian Church. Words will never be able to adequately describe her kindness, generosity, and giving nature. Mrs. Young had a love for baking, needlework, and had a special passion for sports, especially baseball.

Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her husband, Carl V. Young. She is survived by her daughters, Connie Skaggs and Linda Jackson of Flowood, MS; brother, Jack McIntosh (Millie) of Toledo, OH; grandchildren, Kevin Jackson of Ridgeland, Ally Hughes (Hue) of Savannah GA, and Kim Barlow (Brian) of Madison, MS; along with great-grandchildren, Jonah Hughes of Savannah GA and Brayden Barlow of Madison, MS. She is also survived by her dog and dear friend, Abby.

Nothing was more important to Mrs. Young than her family. She adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and she will be greatly missed by them and her dear friends.
