Julia Jacqueline Grant

Julia Jacqueline Ford Grant, 88, passed away peacefully Monday, July 25, 2011 at her granddaughter's home in Gluckstadt, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, July 27, 2011 in the Chapel of Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Ridgeland, MS on Highland Colony Parkway. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at 5:00pm until 7:00pm; and also Wednesday at 10:00am until service time at 11:00. Burial at Lakewood Memorial Park.

She was the third child born to Thomas Earl Ford, Sr. and Pearl Brown Ford on January 8, 1923 in McComb, Mississippi. Julia Jacqueline "Jackie" Ford Grant was married to the late Mr. William "Wicky" Baxter Grant on March 16, 1941.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William "Wicky" B. Grant, Sr., son, William "Billy" B. Grant, Jr., daughter, Dianna Grant Borden, and grandson, William B. Grant, III.

She is survived by her son, Ray Douglas Grant and his wife, Linda McGee Grant, of Brandon, MS. She is survived by 12 grandchildren: Mike Grant, Teresa Gilmore, Chris Grant, Angie Whisman, Richie Grant, Robby Grant, Julie Entrekin, John Borden, Gwen Sellers, Melodie Knight, Doug Grant, Bobby Grant, 24 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Family always came first in her life. She loved visiting with family and would often entertain her loved ones with detailed stories of the past. Jackie was a very talented lady who enjoyed painting, sewing, music, and dancing. The family wishes to thank the Stayhome nurses and Hospice nursing staff
