Kristi Karol Smith

Kristi Karol Smith of Madison, MS went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at St. Dominic Hospital, Jackson, Mississippi. She was born February 6, 1957 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi.

She attended Alta Woods Baptist Church kindergarten, then schools in Jackson until moving to Greenville when in 7th grade. She was a graduate of Greenville Christian Academy and attended Mississippi Delta Community College. She went to Right Way Travel Agency School to become a travel agent. She became associated with McGehee Travel in Jackson for several years prior to joining the travel agency at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL.

After leaving Disney, she moved back to Jackson and went to work for Carlson Wagonlit, handling only military emergencies. She was there until retirement following a stroke.

Kristi was preceded in death by her father, James “Vernon” Smith, her brother, James Vernon Smith, Jr. and her niece, Amy Smith of Weslaco, TX. She is survived by her mother, Alice Smith of Madison, MS; two nephews, Trey Smith and his daughters Madeline Smith and Isabella Smith of Weslaco, TX, and Kyle Smith (Mary) and their children, Walker Smith and Rowan Smith of Atlanta, GA; her two golden retrievers, Jesse and Jasper; and a number of cousins.
