Margie Vaughn Ray

She was born February 6, 1927 in Natchez, MS to Homer and Iva Smith Vaughn. She moved to Jackson, MS at a young age and attended Lee Elementary School, Bailey Junior High School, and graduated from Central High School in 1945.

After graduation from business college, she was employed by First National Bank of Jackson, MS. She was an active charter member of Broadmoor Baptist Church.

Her children were Tommie Allen Ray, Jr., James Michael Ray (deceased) and Dr. Linda Ilene Ray. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Debra Lynn Ray of Falling Waters, WV, and grandchildren Scott Henry Ray and wife Cristy of Taylors, SC, Sharon Noelle Beemiller and husband Matt of Greenville, NC, and Sarah Lynn Folk and husband Tim of Martinsburg, WV. She was the great-grandmother of four boys (Noah, Luke, Henry and Harrison), and five girls (Lucy, Noelle, Hadley, Lilly Bea and Abagail), who referred to her as “G.G.”

After a career in accounting, she retired from the Methodist Rehabilitation Center in 1992. During her retirement years, she loved to travel and visit with family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2013 at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Ridgeland. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Parkway Memorial Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Broadmoor Baptist Church.
