Mary Nell Royals Hinton, 92, of Madison, MS passed away peacefully on April 17, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family . “Nell” was the daughter of Arthur Lee Royals and Annie Virginia White, and loving and devoted wife to Benjamin Harvey Hinton (deceased). Nell is survived by her daughter, Lynda Fant and husband Charles Arden Fant. “Mammaw” had 3 granddaughters: Debbie Tolleson, Melissa Fant, and Christy Triplett, and 5 great grandchildren all from the Jackson area.
Nell worked as an employee of the State working in the Motor Vehicle Department and the Training School. Afterward, she went home to be a homemaker. She was a faithful member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church for many years. Nell loved to take care of her family, whether it was preparing her sweet potato casserole, baking her beloved homemade rolls, or calling to check on one of her girls. In the last years of her life she lived with Arden and Lynda, attempting to keep Arden busy and doing all that she could to help Lynda in the house. She loved flowers and watching birds as they flewdown to their feeders she had set out. Nell always looked so beautiful whether she was going to church or to the grocery. She instilled this in her daughter and granddaughters to always look their best.
Mammaw will be greatly missed, but we rejoice in her accession to Heaven to be with her beloved Ben and to be with her Lord and Creator.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 till 4pm at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland. Monday visitation 10 till 11am, service immediately following at Colonial Heights Baptist Church with a graveside service at 3pm at the Masonic Cemetery in Newton, MS.
In Lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Magnolia Speech School or the National Fragile X Foundation.
