Mary Hetherington Wright

Mary Hetherington Wright passed away on Friday, December 28, 2012. Mary was born on July 19, 1915 in Delaware County of Pennsylvania. Mrs. Wright was a secretary and court reporter serving as a civilian in Korea and Japan for six years with the 5th Air Force Headquarters. It was in Korea that she met William Wright, Jr., who was with the Navy. They were married on Groundhog Day, February 2, 1955, at Miramar Naval Air Station in San Diego. They lived in New Orleans for over fifty years, where Mr. Wright was an attorney for Chevron Oil. Mary loved to travel, and she particularly enjoyed the year and a half they spent in Australia with Bill's company. In 2005 Hurricane Katrina sent the Wrights to St. Catherine's Village in Madison, MS. Mr. Wright is a native Mississippian from Hazlehurst.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Julia Hetherington, and her younger brother, Robert Hetherington, Jr.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bill Wright of Madison, and four nieces, Bonnie Hetherington, Holly Lockwood, Wendy H. Bass, and Lark Coles.

Visitation will be held at Wright & Ferguson in Ridgeland on Sunday, December 30, 2012 from 2-3 p.m. The service will follow at the Wright & Ferguson chapel.
