Mildred Juanita Renfroe Myers died July 10, 2015. A visitation for Nita will be held 12:30 to 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 11, at Briarwood United Methodist Church, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm. Entombment will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.
The daughter of Willie Franklin and Margaret Eva Richardson Renfroe, she was born in 1928 and grew up in Flora, Mississippi. She attended nursing school in Memphis and returned to Mississippi to marry Dewey Clifford Myers, to whom she was totally devoted until his death in 2013. The two of them had the marriage that all their family and friends envied.
A devout Christian, she was a lifelong Methodist, originally a member of the Flora Methodist Church, and, at the time of her death, a member of Briarwood United Methodist Church. She was a Sunday School teacher and a choir member, and between them, she and Dewey held virtually every lay position in the Methodist Church. One of her most honored tasks was to bake the bread used during the Eucharist.
In a home where there were always books and music, and on the Lord’s Day, linen napkins, the best silver and china, and wonderful dessert, they lived with their two children. She adored their son and daughter, William Clifton Myers and Mildred Myers Morris, and loved their spouses, Geraldine Kilian Myers and Dr. Glenn Farrell Morris, as if they were her natural children. She is survived by them and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Amy Morris, Dr. David Glenn Morris and his wife, Ming, Krista Myers Markham, and William Scott Myers and his wife, Cara, David Oliver Strange, Jordan Markham, Anna Catherine Markham, Joshua Markham, Emma Grace Markham, Mildred Hannah Strange, David Glenn Morris, Jr., and James William Morris. She is also survived by a brother, Bobby Franklin Renfroe, along with his wife, Mary, and two loving sisters-in-law, Rita Myers House and Frances Myers Williams. Pre-deceasing her were her beloved husband, with whom she is again united, her parents, a brother, Willie Franklin Renfroe, Jr., and three sisters, Elizabeth Renfroe Prine, Mary Helen Renfroe, and Marie Renfroe Lungrin.
