Myrtle Ruth Byrd, 66, resident of Ridgeland, MS, passed away peacefully, Friday, February 8, 2013 at Hospice Ministries of Ridgeland after battling a lengthy illness. Residing for the past several years in Ridgeland, Ruth had spent the vast majority of her life in her hometown of Meadville, Mississippi.
Ruth is preceded in death by her loving husband of 34 years, Richard Wayne Byrd, her parents, William and Alberta Sullivan; and brothers, Bobby and Billy Sullivan.
She is survived by her three daughters, Barbara Alcaraz and husband, Jose of Homestead, FL, Roberta Byrd of Ridgeland and Liz Burgess and husband, Clark of Madison, her twin grandchildren, Robert Wayne & Mary Elizabeth Burgess of Madison along with countless other family and friends.
Visitation will be held at 10 am Monday, February 11 at First Baptist Church Madison. Funeral services will be at 11 am at the church. Additionally, there will be a brief visitation that same afternoon at 2:00 pm at New Hope Baptist Church in Meadville followed by a family interment at Midway Cemetery in Meadville.
