

Peggy Stacy Taylor, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, teacher, and faithful servant of Christ, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on December 12, 1929, in Tupelo, Mississippi, to Dr. Archie Jackson Stacy and Roberta Valliant Stacy.
Peggy graduated from Tupelo High School and later from Blue Mountain College, where she earned her degree in education. After college, she moved to Natchez, Mississippi, where she taught second grade and enjoyed participating in the Natchez Pilgrimage.
In November 1957, she married the love of her life, Larry Taylor, and together they built a beautiful life centered on faith, family, and service through First Baptist Church Jackson. Peggy was a devoted member of the Marie McKeigney Circle and Bobby Miller’s Sunday School Class, where she formed many treasured friendships over the years. She loved to sing and was a faithful member of Reflections Choir at First Baptist Jackson.
Peggy is survived by her devoted husband of 68 years, Larry Taylor; her children, Val Ethridge (Rusty), Beth Taylor, Larry Taylor (Pam), and David Taylor (Kim); and her cherished grandchildren, Emily Grohovsky, Natalie Rudsenske (Ben), Tripp Taylor (Shelby), Wilson Taylor, Allie Taylor, Hannah Terry (Doug), and Zach Taylor (Stacy). She also leaves behind her beloved great-grandchildren, Wally, Louie, John Taylor, Ezekiel, and Ruth, with two more great-grandchildren joyfully expected soon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Archie Jackson Stacy and Roberta Valliant Stacy; her brother, Archie Jackson Stacy, Jr. (Frances); and her sister, Miriam Stacy Ellis (Charles Mayo).
The family wishes to sincerely thank the nurses at Arden and the sitters from Little Bits, LLC — especially Lisa, Trisha, Deanne, Anita, Joyce, and Raphael — for their compassionate and wonderful care.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Reflections Choir at First Baptist Church Jackson, Blue Mountain College or to the charity of your choice.
Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Jackson, Mississippi, 431 N State St, Jackson, MS 39201, US, on June 1, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at the same location on June 1, 2026, beginning at 1:00 pm.
