Sarah’s journey on earth began on March 10, 1919 in Edinburg, Mississippi. Sarah was greeted in Heaven by her parents Robert and Ella Weir, by her husband, Raymond Grantham, a daughter, Bobbie Oakes, a son, James Grantham, and friends and loved ones who had gone on before her.
Sarah touched many lives as she was very active with Ridgecrest Baptist Church and in the community. Some of those activities include, teaching Bible Study in the Baptist Sunday Schools for over sixty years, talent director for seventeen years for scholarship pageants in Madison County, and she served as President and Program Director for the Fifty Plus Club.
Sarah worked hard to help improve the City of Ridgeland, and was recognized by the Ridgeland Chamber of Commerce as “City Maker” of the Year. She held many leadership positions in the church and the community, but was known most for her humorous skits that she wrote and produced over the years.
