Mrs. Sally A. Lewis was born in Jackson, Miss on June 15, 1934. In her early years, she attended school at Duling Elementary, Baker Junior High School, and graduated from Central High School in 1952. She went to work for The Lamar Life Insurance Co. for several years.
In 1960, she married the Rev. Ben. F. Lewis and they served different church in North Mississippi. She helped her husband in the work of the ministry by being a teach for the Sunday School, a member of the Women’s Missionary Society, and by helping out in many other church functions.
Ben and Sally retired from the active ministry in June, 1998, and moved back to Jackson, where she attended St. Luke’s United Methodist Church where she had joined early in her life.
Sally is survived by her husband, The Rev. Ben. F. Lewis; one sister, Mary Jane Oglesby; one brother, Smith McDonald; one daughter, Mary E. Hilliard; and two grandchildren, Sarah C. Crawford and Trey Crawford of Tennessee, and a host of friends.
