

Thadius Milford Jones, Sr, 91 of Ridgeland was welcomed home by his Lord and Savior on January 30, 2025.
Thad was born in Jackson, MS on December 11, 1933 to Molly Ethel Bilbo and Claude Vivian Jones.
At the age of 11, Thad went to live at the Baptist Children’s Village, formerly named the Baptist Children’s Orphanage. He met the love of his life, Barbara Laura O’Briant while there. They graduated in 1952 from Central High School and married on August 24th the same year. They were married for 67 years.
Thad and Barbara had four children together: Cynthia Gray, Donna Palmire, Brenda Alexander and Thad Jones, Jr (Tim).
He and Barbara worked together for Old Dominion Freight Line for 32 years, where he served as terminal manager, and she was the office manager. They retired together in 1999. He enjoyed his work in the trucking industry for over 45 years.
After retirement, he and Barbara purchased a home in West Palm Beach, Florida and enjoyed traveling together and spending time with family. He also loved being outdoors, gardening and watching his plants grow.
Thad was well loved and respected by everyone. He was strong in his faith and had a tremendous heart for others. He was always the one you turned to for advice or help in any situation. He was wise, honest, loving, kind, selfless and generous.
He loved animals and often adopted stray cats and dogs. His home was open to all.
Thad is survived by his daughters, Donna Palmire (Billy) and Brenda Alexander (Mark), his son-in-law Jimmy Gray, and grandchildren: Renee Davidson (Mark), Jackye Barbour, Jason Gray (Kristyn), Justin Gray, Chris Palmire (Shannon), Jessica MacFarland (Matt), Jarrod Warwick, Kayla Adair (Justin), Nicholas Alexander (Ellen), Marcus Alexander, and Olivia Jones. He also leaves behind two sisters, Florence Ann Maddox and Claudia Key, a brother-in-law Robert Key, 18 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews whom he adored.
Thad is preceded in death by his wife Barbara, his daughter Cynthia, his son Tim, three brothers and three sisters.
A combined memorial service for Thad and Tim will be held at Pinelake Madison on Monday, February 17, 2025. Visitation will commence at 1:00 PM, followed by the service at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to The Baptist Children’s Village, 114 Marketridge Dr, Ridgeland, MS 39157.

Thadius "Tim" Milford Jones, Jr.
Thadius Milford Jones, Jr, 63 of Ridgeland was welcomed home by his Lord and Savior on November 27, 2024.
Thadius (Tim) was born in Jackson, MS on December 11, 1960 to Barbara and Thadius Jones, Sr.
Tim, a Clinton, MS native, excelled in football and pole vaulting. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1978 and earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Mississippi College.
He was always very smart and creative, capable of achieving anything he set his mind to. A favorite pastime in grade school was reading encyclopedias from cover to cover, absorbing knowledge on a wide array of subjects. His thirst for learning and tireless curiosity shaped his academic pursuits and professional achievements.
Over his career, he worked for numerous companies, including Fisher Scientific, SAIC, Southern Tank, Langley Air Force Base and International Consulting Group.
Tim is survived by his daughter, Olivia Jones of Buffalo NY and a grandson Enzo. He is also survived by two sisters, Donna Palmire (Billy) and Brenda Alexander (Mark). Nieces and nephews, Renee Davidson (Mark), Jackye Barbour, Jason Gray (Kristen), Justin Gray, Chris Palmire (Shannon), Jessica MacFarland (Matt), Jarrod Warwick, Kayla Adair (Justin), Nicholas Alexander (Ellen) and Marcus Alexander. He has 17 great nieces and nephews.
Tim is preceded in death by his mom Barbara and his sister Cynthia. Since Tim’s passing, his father, Thad Jones Sr, was called home on January 30, 2025.
A combined memorial service for Tim and his father, Thad, will be held at Pinelake Madison on Monday, February 17, 2025. Visitation at 1 with service to follow at 2.
