Tom was born in Clarksdale, MS, on January 25, 1929, to Annie Laurie Milligan King and Thomas E. King, Sr. He graduated from Central High School in Jackson and Mississippi State University. He proudly served in The United States Air Force and then enjoyed a successful career as an insurance claims adjuster. He was a member of Alta Woods Baptist Church where he served in several capacities.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Dona Jean Price King, son, Thomas King (Tammie); daughter, Carole King; grandchildren, Cara Leigh Shank, Jason King (Julie) and Laura King along with great grandchildren, Chase Lawson and Jayden Shank. Faithful pets: Cruz, Tiger and Gracie.
Visitation will be held at Parkway Funeral Home, Ridgeland, MS, Saturday, September 24, 2016, at 12:00 PM with funeral service at 1:00 PM. Burial will be at Carpenter, MS Cemetery at 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
