

Thomas John Sillers of Brandon, MS, a devoted husband and father, passed away on February 15th. He was 80 years old. Mr. Sillers was born on June 1st, 1932, the son of Mr. Thomas G. A. and Mrs. Alice Sillers of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. He was a graduate of Wauwatosa West High School, where he excelled at football and track. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Electrical Engineering, and began what would become a 42-year career with Siemens Corporation. As a Marketing Manager, he had the opportunity to travel the world representing Siemen's Power and Utility Products. He married his high school sweetheart, Dorothey Zahn, on August 28th 1954, and they shared 58 wonderful years together.
A devoted Christian, Mr. Sillers served First Presbyterian Church of Gadsden, Alabama, as a Deacon and Elder. He was later a Founding Member of Lakeland Presbyterian Church in Flowood, Mississippi, where he also served as an Elder. His deep faith was the cornerstone of his life, and his family rejoices that he is now and forever in the presence of his Lord.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Sillers, his sister, Kathleen Wigdale (Tom) and her family, of Mequon, Wisconsin, his sons Thomas (Meredith) and Michael (Becky) and their families, of Birmingham, Alabama, his daughter, Lisa Welch (Doug) and her family, of Brandon, and his Grandchildren, Lindsey, Katie, Alicia, Jonathan, David, and Jeffrey.
A Visitation will be held at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Ridgeland on Sunday, February 17th, from 3-5 PM. A Memorial Service will take place at Lakeland Presbyterian Church in Flowood on Monday, February 18th at 3 PM, with Visitation at the Church from 2-3 PM.
