Tom was born on September 14, 1965 to Ed and Colleen Zuga in Warren, Ohio. Tom graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in 1984. He then served in the Army from 1985 to 1987.
Tom was a well known bartender in the Jackson area and served many over the years at George Street Grocery, the Cherokee Inn, and Hal & Mal’s. He ended his career at Martin’s. Tom often included a side order of wit seasoned with sarcasm to his customers.
Tom considered his brothers, Christopher Zuga and Sean Zuga, his best friends. His sisters collectively referred to the three of them as the “the boys”. Even doing nothing with Tom could turn into an adventure filled with laughter and one liners. Tom was a lover of all sports and played Little League and high school baseball. He was a voracious reader and writer. In recent years he took up drawing and painting and surprised everyone with his talent. Tom loved nothing more than sitting outside with the warmth of the sun on his face.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Colleen Zuga. He is survived by his brothers, John Zuga, Christopher Zuga, and Sean Zuga; his sisters Melissa Cotton, Ann Marie Castenfelt (Dennis); nephews Zack Cotton (Cheyenne), Ian Castenfelt; niece Anna Castenfelt and one great-niece, Willow Cotton as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
