Vera Katherine Wynne

Kathy was born in Jackson, Mississippi, on April 16, 1948, to James and Vera Holliday. She attended numerous schools in Mississippi because her dad was a Methodist minister but graduated from Enterprise High School in 1966. She graduated from Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s in education.

Kathy married Billy Wynne on May 29, 1971, in Meridian, Mississippi. They were blessed with 3 children, Corin, Brian and Amanda. She was a teacher, stay at home mom, piano teacher, seamstress, and a Sunday school teacher before she retired in 2011. Her longest tenure was in Mathiston, Mississippi at East Webster Elementary. She also loved to paint, garden, and draw.

She was a member of Lakeshore Congregational Methodist Church in Byram, Mississippi. Kathy is survived by daughters, Corin (Brian) Granger of Byram, Mississippi and Amanda (Michael) Atwood of Terry, Mississippi, son, Brian (Kelli Jo) Wynne of Liberty Township, Ohio, brother, James Craig Holliday of Terry, 11 grandchildren, Ashleigh and Joseph Granger, Isaac, Noah, Veronica, Eliah, Jaxson, Lincoln, and Leo Wynne, and Liam and Holli Kate Atwood, and numerous beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Vera Holliday, and husband Billy Wynne.

Funeral services will be held at Lakeshore Congregational Methodist on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation for Kathy Wynne will be held at Lakeshore Congregational Methodist on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, from 10:00- 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at conclusion of service at Parkway Cemetery in Ridgeland, Mississippi.

Memorial donations may be made in Kathy Wynne’s name to Water for Life. Thank you for all who visited, prayed, prepared food, called, sent cards, and showed love. We rejoice that Kathy is completely healed and is walking with Jesus!
