Veta Stringer O'Quin

She was born in Tylertown, Mississippi on October 16, 1927 to Emma and Noah Stringer. She attended Tylertown High School and Jackson Commerical Business School.

Veta married Marvin O'Quin, and they had two children, Patricia O'Quin Kirkpatrick and Michael Marvin O'Quin. She worked as a bookkeeper and was active in the preschool ministry of her church until health issues prevented her from doing so. Veta was an active member in Fannin Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter Patricia Kirkpatrick (Bill) of Cleveland, MS, son Michael O'Quin of Jackson, MS , sisters Faye Allredge of Tuscaloosa, AL and Sue Schilling of Osyka, MS, grandchildren Elizabeth Thomas (Joshua), Laura Goldberg (Chuck), and David Kirkpatrick (Brittany), Jason Turner (Rebecca) and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin O'Quin, parents Emma and Noah Stringer, and brother Noah Stringer, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church Fannin on Friday, February 12, 2016 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund of First Baptist Church of Fannin.

The family wishes to extend a very special thanks to Dr. Todd Lawson and Dr. Michael Bensler of Baptist Heart and to our mother's caregivers, Ms Mattie Watson and her staff.
