Funeral services will be held Thursday April 1, 2010 from the Ridgeland Chapel of Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home. Visitation will be between the hours of 5 and 7 PM Wednesday and after 9:00 AM Thursday. Interment will follow the service in Parkway Memorial Cemetery.
A native of New Orleans, Bill Had lived in Jackson since 1963. He was retired and he attended Christ United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Haley Ann Carpenter.
Survivors include his wife Ruth Ann Milner Carpenter: Three sons, Christopher Lawrence Carpenter (Melissa) of Lafayette, LA, Bradley Robert Carpenter (Jennifer) of Madison and William Lawrence Carpenter, Jr. of Puyallup, WA: and his grandchildren, Aniston Hart Carpenter, Baylor Milner Carpenter, and Swayze Ann Brewer.
This honorable, kind and gentle man will be missed beyond comprehension by his loving wife and precious children and grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital at the University of Mississippi Medical Center or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis.
