Edward Moynahan

Edward Moynahan, 61, of Ridgeway, died Friday, June 7, 2013 at the Salem VA Medical Center in Salem, VA. He was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts, on March 11, 1952 to the late Harold “Red” Moynahan and Mary Dunnette Moynahan of Holly Hill, Fla., He served in the United States Navy and was the first seaman on the J.F.K. He was a member of the American Legion and AMVET. Edward was of the Catholic faith.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathy Thrasher and Barbara Barnett and two brothers, Robert and Thomas Moynahan and three canine companions, Gizmo, Feisty and Precious.

In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, G. “Brandy” Moynahan of the home, two brothers, Jim Moynahan of Wilmington, NC and John Moynahan of Springfield, Massachusetts, Sister-in-law, Lyndia Thornton and husband, Pete, three nephews, Pat, Shane and Dan, one niece, Kelly and two special canine companions, Boo and Munchie.

A Memorial services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 15, 2013 in the chapel of Community Funeral Service of Ridgeway, interment will be private.
