Jerry Wesley Harris

Jerry Wesley Harris, 63, of Ridgeway, died Friday, October 15, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Eden, NC, on March 6, 1947, to John Wesley Harris and Charline Harris Midkiff, both deceased. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was retired as owner/operator of J. W. Harris Trucking Company. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC.

He is survived by a daughter, Tammy Harris of Greensboro, NC; two sons, Jerry Wesley “Jay” Harris, II of Eden, NC and Jonathan Wayne Harris of Martinsville; one sister, Joy Lynn Walker of Greensboro, NC; four grandchildren, Jacob Harris, Jerry W. Harris, III, Sara Beth Harris and Jordan Harris.

Friends may visit the home of Jonathan Harris at 240 St John’s Circle, Martinsville, Sunday October 17, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M.

A Memorial service will be held 6:00 P.M. Monday, October 18, 2010 in the chapel of Community Funeral Service of Ridgeway with Reverend Bud Sedwick officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour following service in the Community Funeral Service Chapel
