John David Stone

JOHN DAVID STONE, 79, of Martinsville, died Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at Blue Ridge Rehab Center. He was born in Henry County on August 6, 1935, to the late John Reed Stone and Madgie Lee Mize Stone. He was retired from Warren Trucking Company where he worked with sales and traffic. John was a member of the Collinsville Church of The Brethren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Ella Stone and two brothers, Edward and Cebert Stone.

Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law; Sandra Stone Fulcher and husband Tim of Bassett, son and daughter-in-law; John G. Stone and wife Pat of Ridgeway, one sister, Goldie Wright of Fieldale, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Graveside service will be held this afternoon at 4:00 P.M., Friday, August 8, 2014, in the Stone Family Cemetery off Wall Road in Bassett, with Director Kelly G. Ratcliff officiating.
