Lawrence D. "Larry" Surber

Lawrence D. “Larry” Surber, 60, of 914 Childress Dr, Martinsville died Saturday September 8, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Welch West Virginia on March 11, 1952 to Charles H. Surber, Sr. of Writz, VA and the late Ruth M. Surber.

In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by one brother, Michael W. Surber, maternal grandparents, Neal and Rhoda Rose and paternal grandparents, Orville and Lelia Taylor and James Surber.

Surviving in addition to his father is one son, Marcus John Bailey of Panther, West Virginia, four sisters, Delores S. “Pinkie” Haskins of Bassett, Charlotte Surber of Martinsville, Patricia S. Wood of Axton and Cynthia S. Fulcher of Martinsville, two brothers, Houston Surber of Martinsville and Charles Bailey of Trinity, NC, one grandson and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11a.m. Wednesday September 12, 2012 in the chapel of Community Funeral Service of Ridgeway with a brother Houston Surber and other family members officiating, interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends 7-9pm. Tuesday September 11, 2012 in the chapel of Community Funeral Services.
