Honoring our deepest loss of man of God, Arturo “Art” Castillo Rivera. Art is beloved son of Arturo Z. Rivera and Margaret Moyer, born on August 1, 1961 in Silver City, New Mexico. He spent his early years in Santa Barbara, as well as Anaheim, California before settling in Riverside with his family. Art will be greatly missed by all that knew him. His distinctive qualities were his sharp wit, hearty laughter and calm disposition, traits that were ingrained in anyone he crossed paths with. Some of his passions included his love of anything fast; be it motorcycles to race cars, and his never-ending desire to swim; from oceans, to lakes, to pools. He was an avid reader with a fondness for history. Art gained immense comfort from reading the scripture and nothing would dampen his love of music.
Art was devoted to his family as a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and cousin. He was an amiable and sincere friend to many. He spent 20 years with Cement Mason Local 500 before becoming a crane operator with Ayala Boring, Inc. for the past 13 years. Art is survived by his wife of 24 years, Sarah Rivera, three children Marrideth(Donnell) Caldwell, Ashley Rivera and Jonathon Rivera, grandchildren Michael Clyde-Caldwell, Jacob Caldwell, Anabelle Caldwell, Eli Basoco and Liam Basoco, great grandson Winston Rainwater, parents, sisters Molly Stoykovich, Carmen Herrington, Diane Ayala, and Maria Rivera, brothers Richard Rivera and Ted Moyer, Jr., step-mother Annie Rivera, step-sisters Della Lopez, Lisa Lopez Hernandez, and step-brother Ray Armijo. Art is preceded in death by his older brother James Ogas.
